A bit better than the cubase one.
This is an easy to use plugin which will work on almost any sound, it is working fine natively on my windows 10 pc. I did get very similar results with the magneto 2 which came with cubase. However the UA one is a touch more rounded and refined, so it takes my preference. I gave it 4 because I got this on offer and the very next day UA released a better offer whereby i could have got another plugin for free. This hacked me off no end and totally puts me off trying and using plugins from this company again. I know others feel the same and so Ua you need to uniform your prices instead of constantly playing games.

I've read somewhere that Oxide is a simplified version of the Studer Tape plugin, with an inbuilt set of adjustments. DOn't know if it's true or not, but it sounds very different out of the box, and you'd struggle to get Studer to match the sound of Oxide by tweaking its individually adjusted parameters.
Oxide sounds great, it's refreshingly easy to use, and if you want that particular tape profile - which is great, round and warm, but clean at the same time - without having to wrestle to make Studer sound similar - I haven't succeeded, but I haven't tried too much, to be honest - it's definitely a good addition to the tape collection, especially since the price is not one you're gonna feel sorry about.C. Why is the free version bundled instead of the full version?
Just bought the essentials bundle, and only got half of this plugin, plus an advertisement. Disappointed

I didn’t get it .. until I tried it
Everyone was praising this plugin everywhere and I didn’t understand how it could be all that people were talking about. Then I tried it and played around for about 1h until I got it and now it’s on all my mixes. Just that glue and not surgical (in a good way). It would be great to have a “view” where it was easier to navigate (don’t need to look like they actual hardware)

I've got a few tape emulations this one adds the magic I like , I'm not a pro audio engineer but this seems to add the weight and depth that people rave about,makes my mixes sound better which is good enough for me.

Skimped on the native version
Great plugin. I was excited when the native version came out, only to realize it’s not quite the same plugin. No tape delay or controls for amount of crosstalk, wow and flutter. Plus you can’t copy presets from the non-native version to the native version. And they don’t have the same preset library! UAD-2 DSP version is superior, unfortunately. Come on UAD….

at first i thought they were just gimmicks, but actually they sounds really cool and i have already used them on a couple of tracks.
only 3stars because it was only released on UADx and not UAD-2, i would love to run these on my DSP sharc chips and also on my Apollo on the Way in.I. Inkilä
A must have
The Ampex ATR-102 -plugin was the missing link that set my mixes and masters on par with all my favourite records. It’s currently my favourite tool and a definitive must have 6/5.

Wonderful tool!
Replaced my Pultec/Studer mixbus rack.
Just set the Sweeten machine to 40, warble to 7 and you're ready to go.
Only 4 stars because you didn't include a MIX button.
